Code Type is the type of code.  Select a type from the drop down valid types are: Exemption, Value or Return Mail.

The Description is the name of the Exemption, Value or Return Mail code.  This description will print on statements, rolls and on the screen.

Value Exemption Type

4. Value Exemption Type
Value Exemption Type is for codes of value and exemption.  Value Exemption Type determines the handling of the code when calculating the tax levy on a tax records.  Valid selections are:
 
 
  • Agricultural means the value or exemption applies strictly to agricultural property.  An example includes agricultural land (value) and agricultural deferral (exemption).
 
  • Homestead means the value or exemption applies strictly to property designated as home site. An example includes home improvement (House) and the homestead exemption.
 
  • Non-Homestead means the value or exemption applies strictly to property designated as non-homesite  and not agricultural.  An example includes a barn (value) and a free port inventory (exemption).
 
  • AG, HS and NHS means the exemption can apply to any type of property.  An example of this type of exemption is an Absolute exemption where all property is exempt for any taxation.
